NIGERIA COMMUNITIES CELEBRATE ST JOSEPH

Every March 19th, the Universal Church celebrates the Solemnity of Saint Joseph as it expresses the human response and co-operation in God's salvific mission. The Congregation of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary in communion with the Universal Church in gratitude and in thanksgiving to God recognizes Saint Joseph as her secondary Patron Saint. In the light of this, the Nigeria Delegation mapped out every March 19th as inter-communities gathering where the different Oblates communities in Nigeria get together to express the depth of Community life (koinonia) among confreres.
This year, the Asipa community of St Anthony hosted the Formation House community at Ibadan, Nigeria. The celebration which began with the celebration of the Holy Mass in honour of St Joseph had the presence of both communities' members in attendance. Both communities had the opportunity to renew their fraternity and commitment in the Delegation.
Actually, there were more than enough to eat and drink at the ceremony. The traditional cultural troops of the Formation House were not left out as their performance helped to give more meaning to the solemnity.
The Formation House community is grateful to the St Anthony's parish community for the success recorded in hosting this year celebration of the Solemnity of St Joseph.
